April 2011 is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. We invite you to support this important work by joining our "Be a Lifesaver" campaign on Friday, April 8th, and Saturday, April 9th. It's easy to do and the time commitment is just two hours! We welcome both groups and individuals.
Volunteers will hand out rolls of lifesavers in exchange for donations. Volunteers are scheduled in two-hour shifts at various pre-arranged locations throughout Kalamazoo County. To get a preferred day, time or area for yourself or your group, please contact us immediately in one of these ways:

Funds from the Be a Lifesaver” campaign will help to prevent child abuse and neglect in Kalamazoo County by supporting programs such as:
- Family Help Book free community resource guide
- Kids are Special interactive presentations for children
- Caught in the Act of Positive Parenting campaign
- Never Shake A Baby educational campaign
- You Are Special sexual abuse prevention coloring books
- Baby Think It Over computerized doll parenting experience
- Mandated Reporter Training for professionals
- Exhibits at fairs and conferences o Lending library of books, videos, and literature
